About me....

As a Graphic Artist I would like to think that I can make people feel something.  A brochure might make a company feel proud of their accomplishments, as they see their success spread out in a two-page lay-out or an annual report might make a business feel excited about their future as they see colorful charts showing a glowing forecast.

The same can be said for a smaller company that wants to show its new face in the form of corporate identity with a logo that will compete in the vast ocean of recognizable icons. They want to feel confident in their service or product and the image that their branding will convey to the world.

A mural in a school or in a childs room can create a feeling of calmness or whimsical fun or faithfulness depending on what the mural is depicting.  That feeling can change the mood in the school or can help a young child fall asleep......I speak from experience that this has happened!

With over 20 years in advertising I combine my Macintosh platform experience with a Design, Illustration and Technical background. Whether I am standing on a ladder painting or sitting at my computer designing, I enjoy what I do, so to me this really isn't work...it's about sharing my creativity, bringing ideas to life that started out as a sketch on a piece of paper and meeting the needs of all my clients so they can feel satisfied and happy with the final product.

“Yoga practice is like life. Each circumstance in which we find ourselves is like a pose. Some poses are hard to hold, others are pleasant. It is how we hold the pose that determines whether or not we will suffer or grow.  And whether or not we will listen to the drama of the ego or the wisdom of the spirit.  All action

begins at the level of the mind. It is the mind that tells the arms to strike or embrace, and it is the mind that tells the legs to run in fear or to dance with joy.  The good news is that we can change our minds at any point”.

The above inspiring quote comes from the book Yoga and the Path of The Urban Mystic by Darren Main. This book really spoke to me and I like the philosophy behind the words in that our yoga practice isn’t just “on the mat”.  We can take the same schools of thought and bring them into our everyday lives. We can approach a challenging yoga pose or life situation with a dim view and a longing for it to be over as quickly as possible, or we can be open to the challenge, breathing into the pose or the moment and having the sound knowledge that, with time, our bodies will become stronger and more flexible and our life situations will change, as does time.

I like to think that yoga found me and whether it was fate or a message from a higher power, yoga came into my life just when I needed it! Shortly after my daughter was born, I was looking for something to do that was just for myself, asI was at home with her full-time.  As much as I loved being a stay-at-home Mom, wanted to have sometime once a week to refresh and just be “me” for an hour.  Someone suggested that I try yoga and after a few classes I was hooked as they say.....that was over 25 years ago!

In using my skills and training as a Registered Holistic Yoga Teacher and as a Graphic Artist

I bring an element of creativity and fun to each class.  I feel that my classes guide and

enlighten the body and mind with a safe, informative and healthy environment for all

participants. My teaching is mainly Hatha yoga with an emphasis on alignment in the body.

Each class is sequenced with careful thought given to strength building, balance, grounding

elements and the ever vital breath. An open and calm environment helps to foster growth in

beginners and beyond.

I have had the pleasure of working with a few teachers who have each, in their own way, taught

me something about myself and about yoga.  Heather Greaves’, my teacher trainer, with her

kind and gentle manner, taught me to look deeper within myself and to use my own

experiences to help others. My long time instructor, Jim Pope, has influenced me the most

with his alignment based philosophies and his unique ways of dissecting and weaving in and

out of each pose. I continue to learn from him weekly in my own practice and I am truly

grateful to have him as an instructor, mentor and friend.

Hope to see you on the mat soon....peace & blessings!
